DC Caribbean Carnival, Inc. (DCCC) Announces Its 15th Annual Carnival Extravaganza

Saturday, June 23, 2007, and Sunday, June 24, 2007 .

The annual Extravaganza Parade will be staged along the Georgia Avenue corridor on Saturday, June 23, 2007 , and will commence at Missouri Avenue at 11:00 a.m. and terminate at the international marketplace at "DE SAVANNAH" - Banneker Recreation Park at featuring food, craft and entertainment.  DC Caribbean Carnival will host the international marketplace at "DE SAVANNAH " from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m.

 Sunday June 24, 2007 -DC Caribbean Carnival will continue hosting the international marketplace at Banneker Park , "DE SAVANNAH " with live performances from local and international artists, food, craft and entertainment from 12:00 noon until 7:00 p.m. There will be a $10 cover charge at “DE SAVANNAH on both June 23 and 24.

DC CARNIVAL is an annual event produced by DC Caribbean Carnival, Inc., a 501(C) 3 non-profit organization based in the District of Columbia .  The purpose of this event is to bring to fruition an annual Caribbean style parade in the District of Columbia called "DC CARNIVAL", develop and encourage cross-cultural programs within the Washington Metropolitan Area community serviced by DCCC in the expansion of Caribbean culture, and educate youths and adults in the Caribbean arts, crafts and culture.

DCCC officially launched the Carnival at its annual Glorious Saturday event on April7, 2007, and will host a pre-carnival event on Saturday June 2, 2007 to officially launch Caribbean-American Heritage Month at Zanzibar on the Waterfront, 700 Water Street, S.W., Washington DC.  DCCC will also host its annual Pan Jam (showcasing steel band music from throughout the east-coast USA ) on June 16, 2007 and the annual Dimanche Gras (Judging of the Kings, Queen and Individual costumes) on June 17, 2007; both events will be held at the Crossroads Entertainment Complex 4103 Baltimore Avenue Bladensburg, Maryland from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. There will be a $10 cover charge.
